Oyediran Murder Update: “Lowo Was Never Happy In His Marriage”

A new twist has emerged in connection to the tragic death of a certain man, Oye Lowo Ajanaku Oyediran, who was allegedly stabbed by his wife, Yewande Oyediran (Fatoki ), during a marital dispute.

According to reports reaching us from a very close source to the family, the deceased, Lowo had never really been a happy man in all his years of marriage to Yewande.

The source, who craved anonymity, alleged that Lowo’s unhappy marital status to Yewande had prompted him to impregnate a middle-aged lady he met during one of his sojourns in France.

Affirming that Yewande, a lawyer and a Staff of Directorate of Public Prosecution at the Ministry of Justice, Ibadan, knew about the child Lowo had, the source alleged that the wife had called the baby mama several times warning her to stay away from her husband.

The close source, who turns out to be Lowo’s cousin also expressed sadness in the way he had been treated by Yewande each time he visited Lowo’s resident at Akobo estate, in Ibadan, Oyo state. According to him, while Lowo was still alive, the wife never allowed him access to the family. The only time he visited Lowo he was left unattended to with Lowo apologising on her behalf.

Rattled by the unfolding scenario, the source, who expressed concern that Yewande’s influential family is currently using all their might to give the case a soft landing, said now that the case is in court, ‘’two things came up.’’

‘’First: The lady was represented by her own boss! Second: The lady is now claiming she’s pregnant for Lowo. But someone said she’d lying, as she has fibroid.’’ It would be recalled, Yewande appeared before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Oyo state on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

The accused was arraigned before the court on February 5, 2016 on a one-count charge of murder. She allegedly committed the offence, contrary to and punishable under the Laws of Oyo State. According to the charge: On February 2, 2016 “at about 6:10am at No 30 Abidi Odan, Akobo area, Ibadan in the Ibadan Magisterial District (Yewande) did unlawfully caused the death of one Oyelowo Oyediran, 38, by stabbing him with a knife on the neck, which later resulted to his death”.

The Chief Magistrate, however adjourned the case till March 1st and Yewande was taken back to Agodi prison. These claims by the close relative have not been substantiated.
